I've seen how trauma can lead to addiction. There are different ways in which trauma can impact addiction and some of them include

1). Using substances to cope with painful memories or emotions can lead to addiction 

2). Escaping into addiction to forget traumatic experiences

Yes I agree with that. I was/am (I guess u can say I still am) an addict. I deal with a lot of physical and emotional trauma and I want to get away so I've over used on meds.
