Banana Caramel Roulade 🍌🧡🤍
📋 Ingredients:
For the sponge:
- 4 large eggs, separated
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the filling:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
For the caramel sauce:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For garnish:
- Crushed graham crackers
- Banana slices
- Powdered sugar
👩‍🍳 Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and sugar until pale and fluffy. Mix in flour, baking powder, salt, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract.
3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold egg whites into the batter.
4. Pour the batter onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the sponge is set and lightly golden.
5. In another bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
6. Once the sponge is cooled, spread the whipped cream over it and top with sliced bananas.
7. Carefully roll up the sponge, starting from one end to create a roulade.
8. For the caramel sauce, combine brown sugar, heavy cream, butter, vanilla extract, and salt in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the sauce is thickened.
9. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the roulade and garnish with crushed graham crackers, banana slices, and powdered sugar.
