Ingredients:
For the Donuts:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 large egg
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon red food coloring
For the Cream Cheese Glaze:
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-3 tablespoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)
Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.
2️⃣ Prepare the Donut Batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, vanilla extract, white vinegar, and red food coloring.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
3️⃣ Fill the Donut Pan:
Spoon the batter into a piping bag or a ziplock bag with the corner cut off. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
4️⃣ Bake the Donuts:
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the donuts comes out clean.
Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
5️⃣ Prepare the Cream Cheese Glaze:
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
Add the milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the glaze reaches your desired consistency.
6️⃣ Glaze the Donuts:
Dip each cooled donut into the cream cheese glaze, allowing any excess to drip off.
Place the glazed donuts back on the wire rack and let the glaze set.
7️⃣ Serve:
